Select ABEM diplomates are appointed as examiners for ABEM’s oral examinations and item writers for ABEM’s multiple-choice examinations. Examiners and item writers are recommended by their peers and appointed by the Board of Directors. They are individuals who are actively involved in the clinical practice of Emergency Medicine and are distinguished for their high quality patient care, teaching, research, or leadership.
