Medical Toxicology Core Content
PDF - The Core Content of Medical Toxicology

The Core Content of Medical Toxicology (Core Content) was developed in 2003 and serves as the basis for the content specifications for all examinations developed by the Medical Toxicology Subboard.  This group consists of content experts and representatives from the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Preventive Medicine for the subspecialty of Medical Toxicology.

The Core Content appears on the ABEM website both as a PDF file and as a Microsoft Word document. The PDF file can be opened, read, and printed. The Word document can be opened, read, printed, and it can also be downloaded and used as you would use any other Word file. The documents also appear on the Annals of Emergency Medicine website, www.mosby.com/annemergmed.

The Core Content is presented as a Word document so that its contents can be used to create new documents to serve individual organizational needs. This may include developing future curricula, certification examination specifications, continuing education objectives, research agendas, residency program review requirements, and other documents necessary for the functional operation of the subspecialty of Medical Toxicology.

The Medical Toxicology Subboard endorses the Core Content in its current version. However, the Subboard's endorsement does not extend to future documents resulting from this original work.

The Core Content appears in the February 2004 issue of Annals of Emergency Medicine.
