The American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) joins the Emergency Medicine community in mourning the death of James R. Roberts, M.D. His accomplishments in the specialty were many. Dr. Roberts was among the first Emergency Medicine residents, a founder of EMRA, and co-editor of the influential Roberts and Hedges’ Clinical Procedures in Emergency Medicine and Acute Care. He served as chairman of the editorial board and a monthly columnist for Emergency Medicine News for 40 years. Dr. Roberts was an ABEM oral examiner and item writer. We extend our condolences to Dr. Roberts’s family and friends.
