How to Submit LLSA Articles

Criteria for LLSA Readings

ABEM has established the following criteria for LLSA readings:

  • Focus on recent advances or current clinical knowledge in EM, EMS, or Medical Toxicology
  • Clinically oriented in content
  • Drawn from peer-reviewed EM/EMS/Medical Toxicology journals, peer-reviewed journals from related primary specialty fields, textbook chapters, or updated practice guidelines published in either printed or electronic form.
  • Related to any content area of the EM Model, The Core Content of EMS Medicine, or The Core Content of Medical Toxicology.
  • Widely available and easily accessible to ABEM-certified physicians
  • Potentially suitable for serving as a part of a Continuing Medical Education (CME) activity by filling a knowledge or practice gap.

Submitting Your Recommendations

For each reference submitted please include the following:

  • One copy of the entire article, chapter, or other text (electronic version if submitting by email)
  • Your name and contact information
  • If you are submitting a reference on behalf of an organization, please let us know the organizational affiliation
  • If you are submitting by fax or mail, please include a completed LLSA Reading Submission Form

Content of LLSA Tests

2021 EM LLSA Test

Reading submissions may come from any content area of the EM Model.
Submission deadline is April 1, 2019.

2022 EMS LLSA Test

Reading submissions may come from any content area of The Core Content of EMS Medicine.
Submission deadline is May 1, 2020.

2021 Medical Toxicology LLSA Test

Readings can be related to any content area of The Core Content of Medical Toxicology. 
Submission deadline is May 1, 2019.
