Pediatric Emergency Medicine Certification Examination Description
The Pediatric Emergency Medicine subspecialty certification examination is a comprehensive computer-delivered examination, at a proctored testing center, covering the breadth of the field of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. The examination appointment time is 5 hours and 30 minutes which includes registration, an introduction, tutorial, the examination, optional breaks, and a survey. The examination is divided into two examinations sections of 2 hours and 15 minutes each, containing approximately 225 multiple-choice questions divided among the two sections.
The American Board of Pediatrics administers it every other year on the odd-numbered year.
All test questions are developed and reviewed by the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Subboard.
