Sports Medicine Certification Examination Description
The Sports Medicine subspecialty certification examination is a comprehensive computer-delivered examination covering the breadth of the field of Sports Medicine. The examination is approximately one-half day in length. The American Board of Family Medicine administers it annually.
All test questions are developed and reviewed by the Sports Medicine Examination Committee, a group consisting of content experts and representatives from the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
