CME and Learning Opportunities

Everyone benefits from physicians who are up-to-date in their field and continuously learning. That’s why, as an added benefit to you, we’ve made several learning modules available.

Core elements of modules include: 

Substance Use Disorder (SUD)  

Description: Approximately 40 questions on the general principles of substance use disorder with a focus on the use of alcohol, cannabis, stimulant, and nicotine use. 

CME Credits: 4 | $30 | Can count toward your DEA reqs

Sign in to your MyABEM portal and register for this module. Be sure to select the CME option if you want credits. This module will NOT count toward your certification requirements.

Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) 

Description: Approximately 20 questions on pain management in the ED, opioid use disorder, management of opioid overdose and withdrawal, and medications used to treat opioid use disorder. 

CME Credits:  2 | $30 | Can count toward your DEA reqs

Resuscitation 

Description: Approximately 20 questions designed to help improve knowledge and skills in resuscitation as well as to potentially meet local medical staff requirements to be proficient in the care of critically ill or injured patients.

CME Credits: 6 | $30

Sign in to your MyABEM portal and register for this module. This module CAN count toward your certification requirements. Be sure to select the CME option if you want credits.

Module Pricing and Access

ABEM-certified physicians who are keeping up with their annual fee and other continuing certification requirements can get these modules at no additional cost through their MyABEM portal.

In addition, the following groups can take these modules at no cost: 

  • Residents 
  • Physicians who are in the initial certification process 
  • Those who are subspecialty certified by ABEM with a primary certification from another ABMS Board
