Two Public Members Elected to ABEM Board of Directors

Two new public members have been elected to the American Board of Emergency Medicine Board of Directors: Heidi Conrad, MBA, and Zeno St. Cyr, II, MPH.

Heidi Conrad, MBA: Ms. Conrad currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the University of Wisconsin, Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health. She brings over 30 years of experience in health care finance and operations to the Board along with her commitment to improving patient safety and healthcare quality. She has previously served as a public member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and currently serves as a member the American Board of Medical Specialties Committee on Certification. Ms. Conrad will begin her term immediately.

Zeno St. Cyr, II, MPH: Mr. St. Cyr is a public health professional with over 45 years of public and private sector work and service including roles at the Department of Health and Human Services, the Veterans Administration, and the Louisiana Department of Health and Human Resources. He has served as a public member of the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy, the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners, and the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists. He will be completing his term in December 2025 as a public member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and then begin his term on the ABEM Board of Directors in January 2026.

ABEM’s Public Member Directors bring unique perspectives to Board deliberations and activities through their broad experience ranging from patient advocacy, health policy and administration to education and community service. ABEM looks forward to working with them as they begin their terms on the Board of Directors.
