The American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) is pleased to announce the selection of JoJo Dodd, MD, to its Resident Ambassador Panel. ABEM is committed to resident engagement and contributions in Emergency Medicine, including through its Resident Ambassador Panel, where members provide perspective on ABEM activities, such as applying for certification, communicating with residents, supporting early-career initiatives and programs, and collaborating with the Emergency Medicine community.
Dr. Dodd will serve a two-year term, joining Aaron D’Amore, MD, and Sophie Nance, MD, on the Panel.
JoJo Dodd, MD, is an Emergency Medicine resident at the Emory University School of Medicine. Prior to residency, Dr. Dodd served as Regimental Surgeon for the 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, leading medical teams responsible for the care and readiness of thousands of Marines and Sailors. He has extensive leadership and service experience, including serving as Chairman of the Board and Chief Operations Officer of the Jackson Free Clinic, a student-run nonprofit providing free healthcare to uninsured patients in Mississippi. Dr. Dodd has also held leadership roles with the AAEM/RSA Medical Student Council and the Uniformed Services Chapter of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. His professional interests include military medicine, EMS, and wilderness medicine.
Aaron D’Amore, MD, is an Emergency Medicine resident in the Mass General Brigham Harvard-Affiliated Emergency Medicine residency program. Dr. D’Amore served on the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM) Residents and Medical Students Board as a Member-at-Large and continues to be involved on the SAEM Admin and Operations Committee. Additionally, he is passionate about Addiction Medicine and has experience working in this space at the National Institutes of Health. He has an interest in hospital administration as a clinician leader.
Sophie Nance, MD, is an Emergency Medicine resident at the University of California, Los Angeles (Ronald Reagan/Olive View) residency program. Dr. Nance is passionate about medical education, and she frequently helps to teach and mentor medical students at UCLA in various settings, her favorite being the SIM lab. She is interested in roles supporting both community and university hospital settings.
